Reed Grover was charged with impersonating a police officer, burglary, parole violation and assault. The 42- year man from Utah pretended to be a police officer and tried to force his way into a home early morning in Salt Lake City.

He was not wearing a uniform, but he had a “police badge” that he showed to the occupants through a window and claimed that he was a police officer. The three occupants quickly noticed that he was a fake cop.

When he eventually forced himself into the house, they manhandled him and managed to put him on his own handcuffs that were real. He was detained there until the real police officers arrived.

Even though his motives were not known, reports showed that Grover had an extensive, violent criminal history.
